Tourism is one of the most significant parts of the Greek economy. Every year millions of tourists like to see fantastic ancient buildings. What is the situation in Greece now?

The big economical crisis in 2008 made a bad financial situation in the Greek society. The countries of the EU spent lots of their money to help Greeks with their budged. All professionals are aware that these enormous difficulties is not just a consequence of the world’s crisis, but as well of the inconsiderateness of the Greek politics. Nowadays when the immigration problem have appeared this situation will costs the European Union next millions of euro.
Greeks and Europeans have provided a large number of centres for refugees and they’re trying to suport people, however it is impossible to help all of them. Nowadays, when the spring’s monts are coming more and more refugees will come to the south of Europe, because of the locking of the track through the Balkans. The government of Greece have a big problem with refugees‘ registration and identification and the travelling season is coming. Every single day lots of visitors will see hundreds of refugees on the Greek beaches searching shelter and support. It is obvious that for a part of tourists it will be a problem see all these situation, naturally a part of them going to help refugees, but not many of them. Tourism bring income and immigrant problem take them, so it is a large challenge for the hotel branch.

In these days hotels in Santorini are mostly prepared for this difficulties,but the situation depends of the future number of the immigrants- our side. In Greece tourism is still in a good shape, so there is a strong possibility to predict a nice year for Greek tourism and especially for the hotels in Santorini. A good advertisement and wise management should solve a large number of possible difficulties. It is worth to say that a large number of destinations are still not as popular as they used to be such as: Egypt, Tunisia or Israel, which give Greece a big opportunity.
It is a nice idea to travel, specially visit the south of our continent, not only to see these magnificent monuments and ancient buildings, however also to show that we are not afraid. More info:
